I’ve got to tell you guys about all the amazing things happening over at Susie’s Senior Dogs. So we started this page on a whim last week, for the purpose of placing old dogs in new homes. (And by we, I mean 95% my girlfriend, and 5% me— let’s be honest.) Nearly 100,000 people “liked” the page in 24 hours.
We’ve posted about 11 dogs so far, and 6 of them have been adopted— from all over the country. It’s just been an incredible success. Almost all of these dogs were ten years or older, and many of them had been in shelters for a long time. Check out these pictures of the pups in their new homes. Remember, these guys were sleeping in cages just last week.
From Left to Right: Nina (13), Fancy (12), and Max (10).
Dropping in for the next round of #urbansurfers is Sean, aka @Es_dot
I put the project on hold to allow Mother Nature some time to change seasons, and now we’re surrounded by falling color.
Stay tuned for more over the coming months as we shoot throughout Fall and Winter.
I’ll also be in Chicago next week where I’m shooting some lake surfers (google GreatLakesSurfer.com) as these guys throw down!
I’ve decided to change my approach to capturing these #phillyshoesonwires since my drone operator is crazy busy shooting a feature. I’m renting out a neighbors bucket utility truck by the hour, which should allow for even greater control over composition and access.
Here’s one of my favorite images captured down at #FDRpark
Friday’s #urbansurfers was a bit unintentionally inspired by the Botticelli, The Birth of Venus.
Thursday morning @roccoavallone and I decided to break the law and hop a fence to capture this. Hetzels Field (located off Frandford ave in Fishtown) is a ball field where my mom played softball and soccer as a young girl. It was common knowledge that this field sucked - void of any resemblance to grass and when you slid into home, you usually ended up with huge scrapes, gashes and tiny pebbles under your skin. The neighborhood has changed.
Thanks Rocco for taking the risk, I’d say it was worth it!
Have a great Friday!
